Eligibility Criteria for Incubation
Startups applying for incubation must meet the following criteria:
1. The startup should be engaged in developing an innovative, technology-based product, process, or service with significant commercial potential.
2. The founding team should belong to one or more of the following categories:
- Alumni of IIT Guwahati.
- Faculty members of IIT Guwahati (subject to Institute rules).
- Final-year B.Tech./M.Tech. students or 4th/5th year Ph.D. scholars of IIT Guwahati with no academic backlogs and a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC).
- Alumni holding B.E./B.Tech./M.E./M.Tech./Ph.D. degrees from State or Central Government-funded institutions in the North Eastern Region.
- Graduates in Engineering or Science from recognized institutions.
- Individuals partnering with IIT Guwahati faculty members or alumni.
3. The startup should be registered as a Private Limited Company. Proprietorships and Partnerships may apply, provided they convert into a Private Limited Company within the prescribed incubation period.
4. The startup should demonstrate:
- Technological innovation and uniqueness.
- Strong market potential and scalability.
- Capability for Intellectual Property (IP) creation.
- A competent and committed founding team.
- Financial and commercial viability.
5. The startup must comply with all applicable statutory, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
6. Preference may be given to startups that address significant industry, societal, environmental, healthcare, agricultural, or developmental challenges through innovative technology solutions.
