Soft Loan

IITG-TIC may provide soft loan which entirely depends on the availability of Funds/Grants/Schemes meant for the purpose. IITG-TIC will be approaching Government /Private agencies/Public Sectors for grants through projects, whenever the opportunity arises. The guidelines of the Funding Agency need to be adhered before the disbursement of loan.
Soft Loan will be sanctioned only to the registered Companies. Admission to IITG-TIC shall not automatically entitle Companies to Soft loan. The total loan available for incubation depends on the criteria of the Funding Agency. The soft loan is available upto 80% of the Project Cost.

TIC and CSR activities

As per Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, corporates with certain net worth or turnover are expected to spend 2% of the average net profits towards Corporate Social Responsibility Projects. One of the activities that qualifies for CSR spending is contribution to technology business incubators located within academic institutions approved by the Central Government.

IITG-Technology Incubation Centre is a non-profit technology business incubator hosted at IIT Guwahati since 2009, Corporates can associate with TIC-IITG to implement projects in relevant technology area, social innovation and /or fund the technology incubation program at IIT Guwahati.

TIC – Overview:

TIC is registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act 1860.

• TIC was incorporated in April 2009. As TIC is one of the first inbucation centre of  Northeastern region.
• TIC has been supported by funding from Technology Development (TDB) Board and Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY).
• TIC has an infrastructure of over 15000 sqft, So far about 19 companies got incubated through the incubator.
